“An Awakening”

Born in 1957 at Bombay, amused myself and surrounding people with art, stitching, knitting and crocheting. I loved the arts, Music and drama as well.

Studied at the JJ School of Art, went on to teach art in my early years. In 1981 left India to live in Spain, keeping Arts as my hobby.

Returned to live in India, painting once again, in 1989. Had my first Exhibition in Bandra, Bombay, “Leaves & Rags”, the same year. A lover of nature, my work carries trees, leaves & flowers. The natural beauty around me fascinates me.

1990 took me back to Spain where I had a successful exhibition, “Trees”, in Valencia.

Thereafter, went to America, met my ‘Man’ and have been living there ever since. Had two exhibitions in Texas, between 1991 & 94, and an exhibition in Bolivia in 1997, then continued with the other arts and shelved painting for a while, too busy being wife and mother, to my beautiful boy Yanni, my ‘raison d’ être’.

In 2009, out of loneliness, solitude and pain; there is ‘an awakening’, something to look forward to, something to do. Painting took over my world, my time, my mind. “Where there was darkness; there is now light”, it shows in the colours I use in my Work, a ‘Back again Celebration’.

Now joyous, energised and vibrant, life will go on ……………. . I’m back in the mood, presenting ………….An Awakening
